ABC Events

Even though it’s still technically winter, we had our first “It’s a knockout” of the season at the weekend. There were 10 events including the spider web challenge, Letterbox challenge, Bomb the base, leaky bucket challenge, Speedshot and more. A good time was had by all (once again!) with everyone getting wet and mildly muddy towards the end of the day. The Spider web Challenge turned out to be one of the more popular events on the day, with Louise having a great laugh watching the inventive ways the puzzle was solved, from people taking a run up and launching themselves through it to a set of human steps being made!

At the weekend we did a Race Night that people came from all over the world to attend. Well, I say all over the world, but really just Singapore. But thats pretty far away! Around half of the guests came across, and the other half were a mixture of Scots and English. It was an unusual race night in the way that it wasn’t a fundraiser, but a 40th Birthday. the night was as populer as ever, with fun money being used in leu of real money.

Our brand new dance machine was out on it’s maiden voyage at the weekend. I Know what you’re thinking, but its not just for 13 year old girls! Or so says Russell, who is a grown man who actually owns a dance mat. the shame. The night its self was another great success, with a constant stream of dancers and  the 50″ plasma and the metal dance mat looking a bit spiffy if we do say so ourselves……

It’s Still Freezing, but that hasn’t stopped a clients booking Caribbean/beach themed nights. Our full size Surf simulator did the rounds, throwing everyone it met off  it, the Limbo challenged many and defeated more, and the flower necklaces and straw hats were in hot demand. And it’s true – beach parties are a good way to combat the miserable weather!

Well, everyone has stuck to their resolutions – EXCEPT PETER! yes, he just can’t stay away from that internet, and he’s given up. We’re not even out of January yet! Louise has still to go to the gym, so I’m not sure if that counts as breaking your resolution, considering she hasn’t started it yet. Bob has the easiest one – I think that was on purpose. Steven and Russell are thinking about going to boxing lessons. Taking bets now…..

Our Gunge Tank had its Maiden Voyage over the festive season….. and it turned out to be a great success! around 20 people got the slimy treatment over the course of around 3 hours. Some people got a bit enthusiastic and stripped off before going into the tank – much to the amusement of all watching! They need not have of worried though, the gunge doesn’t stain. I think they just liked stripping off in public.

A New year is upon us once again. Everyone here at ABC Events would like to wish you a Happy New Year!
Here at ABC HQ, we are having a competition to see which one of us can stick to our new year Resolutions – Russell is eating healthier, Louise Reckons she will go to the gym (although she hasn’t been yet!), Peter is trying to wean himself off the internet, Derek is trying to go to his bed earlier, Steven is joining Louise in the keep fit promise, Bob is trying to grow some hair and everyone else is clearly scared of failure, because they haven’t made any resolutions at all! Cowards! Bets being taken now as to who will be the first to crack…….

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas. Love it or hate it, its upon us once again. Everyone here at ABC Events would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year

The Murrayfield discos continue. At the weekend we were doing two (one normal, one James Bond themed) alongside Forth One’s Boogie in the Morning. Much drink was consumed and a good tie was had by all. Boogie has a big voice, but he’s very small dont you know.

Our Brand new gunge tank is ready to roll. Its debut is this weekend, and we have been busy testing it this morning. We gave Peter in the warehouse a good Gunging. (he “volunteered” for it – honest!) and it didn’t take him long to clean up.
